The pro FL53 is the most popular style of sports turf sold in America. The slit filament yarn is durable in high traffic sports applications such as soccer, lacrosse and football. The slit filament yarn is the only yarn that will hold up in indoor sports facilities with the high level of directional changes. Monofilament yarns tend to pull away from the backing with indoor sports usage levels.
The interesting part of the FL53 is that it is the most affordable AND the most durable yarn, making it a popular choice due to the return on investment.
The stock FL53 is a 42oz product, however we can custom manufacture it at higher face weights and longer pile height for increased durability or specific performance criteria.
The FL53 is also an excellent playground product and will accept up to 3lbs of rubber per sq. ft. to meet ASTM fall height requirements up to around 10'.
